Weldtite

Weldtite offers a wide number of bespoke training courses (approved by the British Bicycle Association) under the Weldtech brand name. Courses range from specialist training courses for those in the bicycle trade to courses ranging from 1 - 5 days specifically designed to meet the training needs of the leisure cyclist, for school cycling programmes, the tourism industry and for the training and development of assistant bicycle mechanics for retail outlets.
The international Weldtech “Bike Doctor” is Jeff Beach, who is based in the UK and has 30 years experience in the cycle industry as a trainer and advisor. Jeff visited South Africa to induct the South African Weldtech trainers and hold the inaugural Weldtech training course designed to develop the bicycle assistants who worked on the 2006 Amashova Cycle Tour.
The training is offered on a flexible format allowing for variations in experience, aptitude and ability. The length of the course varies from 1 day to 5 days. Additional days training for specialised areas such as wheel building are also available. Course content consists of up to nine modules including Health and Safety, Working Practices, Brakes, Bottom Brackets, Gears, Headsets, Tyres and Tubes, Hubs and Frames.
The courses are designed to involve a large component of practical application reinforced with the theoretical backup in the course manual. These courses are limited to 10 participants to allow for the most effective practical participation under the guidance of the tutor on a one-on-one basis. Demonstration followed by individual practice under the observation of the tutor allows for each individual to master the techniques prior to assessment.
